Eve was born to Trevor Eve (actor) and Sharon Maughan, a writer. Her brothers are Jack and George and was educated between the United Kingdom and Los Angeles United States. She attended Bedales School before taking her A Levels at Westminster School London. She completed her studies in English at St Catherine's College Oxford during her summer break. At Oxford she was in student productions such as An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers (which went on tour for Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival) Scenes from an Execution as well as The Colour of Justice. Eve was a part of television dramas like the broadcaster's The Rotters Club Poirot and Hawking as well as the film Stage Beauty (2004). Her family is a multiracial lineage and she was the child of an Indo British father with British origin, Anthony Mitra, and an Irish-born mother Nora Downey. This English actor, who is in her mid-life is the sister of two brothers, Jason Mitra (older brother) and Guyan Mitra (younger brother). The younger brother of Guyan Mitra, is an acclaimed journalist for travel who's work is featured within Lonely Planet as well as The Sunday Times.
