April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in seventh grade. This sparked curiosity. April's very first song was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. When she was 14, April devoted much of her time writing and practicing songs. After a while, she began traveling with her father as well as write her songs in NY or LA. April added other themes to the track "Take My Hand" for some of friends who dealt with concerns like peer pressure disabilities, and even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart is a popular figure and works as a lifestyle blogger at the popular Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. The truth is that she was born with no left hand and that is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her disability. But it also doesn't insist on the issue. It's a reminder. We all have multiple aspects and that we are all unique and we're greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart has stated on video that she didn't want to be defined by her disability. She does not want to become a disability advocate who only talks about disability. There are many aspects to Lockhart. This doesn't influence my day-to-day activities. I carry on the same way as I always do and have come up with my own ways to adapt. This is also part of my life, and I think it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart inspires us to keep moving forward with self-acceptance. She has had periods where she felt uncomfortable in the way she dressed and exposed her arms. It's her choice to wear what she likes, and proudly shares photos of her dressed in her favorite outfits. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not an end goal. This is a process, and I don't think you ever arrive. It's important to have people that know and can relate to the way you feel. They will be the ones to ask your: What are you fret about?
